Welcome to the East High reunion Class of 1991 Graduating from Wendler or Clark Junior High started it all for us. We founded our way to the halls of East High School in the fall of 1987. A new beginning. Not knowing what to exspect, not knowing what was in stored for us little freshman. We would open the doors and walk through the hallways hoping to see a familar face. New school, new classes, lockers and new friends was scary for some of us but we managed to make it each day. Then after our first week at East High, most of us would hit the football games, movies, parties or dancing. Our freshmen year was full of a lot of other new things. The year our football team was State Champs, 3 years running with Coach Shearer and assistant Coach Whitehurst. Going to pep rallies seeing gameshows liked the "Futurewed Game" with freshmen Annie Dittrich and Kris Carmody as contestents. Our first Home Coming game, decorating the hall and going to the dance. You would see some of us either following a cute senior or running from a scary one. Our freshman officers were: Annie Dittrich-President, Tanya Iden-Vice President, Marika Andews-Secretary and Maija Slisco-Treasurer. Our sophomore year was a lot easier to handle. The year of the Spirit Stick. Competing for that stick and no matter how great we were, we usually ended up losing to those darn seniors. Watching Mark Hylen, Tanya Iden, Marika Andrews, Annie Dittrich, and Suzanne McNamara singing Staving Alive, while dominating the Battle of the Lycists during a pep tally. All dressed up in sixties wear. Our sophmore officers were: Tanya Iden-President, Mark Hylen-Vice President, Suzanne McNamara-Secretary and Annie Dittrich-Treasurer. Our junior year was getting better, now we were Upperclassmen and were the ones picking on those little freshmen. The year of the frat (PMS) & soriety sweatshirts, battle of Diet Coke/Diet Pepsi and T-P-ing. Our junior officers were: Jen Beathe-President, Scott DeMay-Vice President, Rich Millar-Secretary, Maija Slisco-Treasurer. Larry Richardson once wrote. "Ever wonder why East High's juniors are always tired, always cranky, always look like the living dead? The answer is simple; when they're not sneaking out to toilet paper houses, meet friends, or to go parties, they're playing psychotic, practical jokes and generally having an awesome time doing so." That was most of us. Our senior year was the best, the final chapter of our high school lives, the year we ruled. The year that our football players brought back the state championship. Watching while Eric Elliott and Tanya Iden were named Homecoming King and Queen. The year that Coach Whitehurst was named Cook Inlet Football Conference Coach of the Year. Our Football Chearleaders did a special presentation in front of the Performing Arts Center before the Oprah Winfrey Show was filmed. Getting to stay out all night and attend Grad Blast and having to bear the whole next day at school dog assed tired. Trying to stay awake in class. The first year that the school rewards students with good grades with a 2 person trip to Hawaii. Our senior class officers were: Tanya Iden-President, Annie Dittrich-Vice President, Staci White-Secretary and Dana Walukiewicz-Treasurer.

"You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you will join us and the world will live as one." John Lennon.
Then it happened. May 30, 1991 at 3:00 p.m. we all walked together in our blue gowns, down the aisle and got our diploma. We showed the world that we could do it. That we were capable of anything we set our minds to. Afterwards, going to the graduation parties and drinking ourselves silly. Some of us going off to college, military and/or jobs. Making a better life for ourselves. East High Class of 1991-15 year Class Reunion--Summer of 2006 But now it is 10 years later. We come together to celebrate life and what we have made of it. We are a little bit older, little bit wiser and most of us are parents. Knowing one day, our kids will be experiencing the same things we are doing and did in the past. Message from the Senior Class President...... Four years, forty-eight months, 1460 days, hours....well that's a little too much mathimatical skill for me, but we've been in high school for a long time. Anyway, the point to all the previous mumbo-jumbo is: it's our senior year: therefore, our four years of high school are almost finished. Now, just what does that mean? What will happen to the graudating class of 1991? Will we have college, jobs, or just plain laziness awaiting us after the May 30, 1991 graduation date? Our high school security blanket will be gone. It's strange that we will be leaving everything we're used to: friends, family, home. Now it's our time to make something of ourselves without our teachers pushing us or counselors helping us. I have all the confidence in the world that the class of 1991 will succeed. So, until the ten year reunion, one hundred twenty months, 3650 days class reunion: GOOD LUCK for being such a great class.
